Wastewater and Recycled Water Treatment Plants

Ballina Council has invested $85 million on its Urban Water Management Strategy which aims to save our drinking water resources and recycle our wastewater.

We now have some of the most modern wastewater treatment plants in Australia which are delivering high quality, clean recycled water for use in our homes, gardens, and to irrigate our sporting fields and crops.

We have a number of treatment plants and pumpstations that are available for tours. These tours are ideal for school kids aged over 15, university groups or community groups.

Facilities available for tours, include:

  • Lennox Wastewater and Recycled Water Treatment Plant
  • Ballina Wastewater Treatment Plant
  • Alstonville Wastewater Treatment Plant
  • Pumpstations (over 160 in the shire)
